Fushimi Castle (Yamashiro Province/Kyoto Prefecture)
Fushimi-jo was built three times. The first one was built by Hideyoshi Toyotomi as a castle for his retirement in 1592 and was collapsed by an earth quake soon after it was built. Hideyoshi rebuilt Fushimi-jo at a different area from its original location and passed away in this castle. Mototada Torii, a Tokugawa's general, was besieged in this castle at the time of the Battle of Sekigahara and it was burnt down when it was attacked by the western forces. The thrid one was built by Ieyasu Tokugawa in 1601, but was abandoned in 1625. The castle site is currently arranged as a recreational facility and two model castle towers are built there.
