Okayama Castle (Bizen Province/Okayama Prefecture)
A castle in the middle of Okayama city, in the Okayama prefecture. In the 1st year of Genki era (1570), Naoie Ukita took away the castle ruled by Kanamitsu clan. In 1590 the son Hideie started renovating the castle and finished in 1597. The outer walls lackered black are its distinguishing features, and as such it is called ""Crow Castle"". During the Meiji restoration and Pacific War, the mass of the buildings were destroyed and only the Tsukimi turret remains today, as well as the inner citadel and inner moat. The castle tower was rebuilt in 1966 with steel-lined concrete, and the outer appearance restored to its original look.
