Kaminoyama Castle

Kaminoyama Castle
(Dewa(Uzen) Province/Yamagata Prefecture)

The roots of this castle is said to be the moutain castle built by Michinaga Satomi during the Muromachi period. During the time between the Muromachi and Sengoku periods, the castle was taken and recovered multiple times between the attack and defense of the Mogami and Date clans, and finally ending up as the Mogami clan's castle.
After the Mogami clan was dismissed from the poistion, various clans took place as the rulers, especially in the seventeenth century, when the Toki clan took over and it is said that the castle was the most well prepared. However, in the 5th year of Genroku (1692), the Toki clan was relocated to another country, and the castle was abandoned to never be rebuilt again. The current castle tower was restored in the 57th year of Showa era (1982).
