Tatsuno Castle (Harima Province/Hyogo Prefecture)
Tatsuno-jo consists of a mountain castle in Mt. Keiroh and a residence at its foot. The origin of the castle came from the one built on Mt. Keiroh by Murahide, a son of Masanori Akamatsu, a Sengoku daimyo in Harima. The Akamatsu clan kept the post the ruler for four generations after that. In the 15th year of Tensho era (1577), they were put under the control of Nobunaga Oda when his power reached this place. A residence was additionally built at the foot of the mountain in the Edo period and the castle formed its current shape, which remains today. The castle was once abandoned as Takakazu Kyogoku was transfered to other province in the 1st year of Manji era (1658), but was rebuilt when Yasumasa Wakizaka was assigned to this place in the 12th year of Kan'ei era (1672).
