Hirado Castle
Hirato-jo was first called Hinotake-jo. The origin was the one built in the 4th year of Keicho era (1599) by the 26th master of the Matsura clan, Shigenobu (Hoin) who governed Hirado region. Hinotake-jo was burn down by Shigenobu himself in the 18th year of Keicho (1613). It is said this was done to show his obedience to the Tokugawa shogunate. After this, the Matsura clan became a daimyo without a castle. |
