Kishiwada Castle (Izumi Province/Osaka Prefecture)
Kishiwada-jo is said to be built in the 1st year of Kenmu era (1334) by Masashige Kusunoki's family, the Wada clan. After that, it entered the posession of clans such as the Hosokawa and Miyoshi clans, and in the 13th year of Tensho era (1585), Hideyoshi Toyotomi's subordinate Hidemasa Koide took over as the ruler. It is also at this time that the castle tower was said to be constructed. During the Edo period in the 17th year of Kan'ei era (1640), the Okabe clan took over until the end of the late Tokugawa period. It became abandoned during the Meiji restoration, and restored in 1954.
